About Our Company

Since 1937 the Winter name has been a trusted name in the Quad Cities. From our beginning at 402 4th Avenue Moline, to our current office and warehouse in Carbon Cliff with convenient access from I-80, I-74 and I-88/5, our company still operates on the same honest principles that Jess Winter set in place three generations ago.

Our estimators know their products and their line of work. They will suggest products or systems that will solve your problem or give you the desired result you are looking for. At Winter’s, we believe that these are important decisions that you are making. We will mail you a fully detailed proposal that you can review without pressure. Of course, if you do have questions, we are only a phone call away.

When choosing your contractor please consider the following:

Check for a permanent place of business, telephone number, tax identification number and, where applicable, a business license.
Don’t hesitate to ask a contractor for proof of insurance. In fact, insist on seeing copies of his liability coverage and workers’ compensation certificates. Make sure the coverage's are in effect through the duration of the job. Many building and homeowners have been dragged into litigation involving uninsured roofing contractors. Also, if a contractor is not properly insured, you may be liable for accidents that occur on your property.
Check to see if the contractor is properly licensed or bonded. Some states have specific licensing requirements, and other do not. Your state’s Department of Professional Regulation or Licensing Board will have this information.
Insist on a detailed, written proposal and examine it for complete descriptions of the work and specifications.
Call your local Better Business Bureau or Department of Professional Regulation to check for possible complaints filed against the contractor.
Keep healthy skepticism about the lowest bid. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Many fly-by-night contractors’ below-cost bids seem attractive, but these contractors often are uninsured and perform substandard work. Remember, price is only one of the criteria for selecting a roofing contractor. Professionalism, experience and quality workmanship also should weigh heavily in your decision.

We are an approved commercial roofing contractor for Johns Manville, Firestone, Versico, and approved residential contractor for Owens Corning fiberglass shingles and GAF roofing systems. We offer a written guarantee on workmanship and manufacturer’s extended warranties are available. All job sites are supervised daily and are kept clean and orderly.

Vinyl and Aluminum Siding Systems

You may never have to paint your house again. Premium vinyl siding is a preferred choice for remodeling projects. Siding comes in an attractive oak grain texture and a choice of clapboard or dutchlap profiles. We also offer extra long 16' 8" panels in vinyl siding to cut down on lap seams to make your home more appealing with a cleaner more attractive look to the finished appearance of your project. Vinyl siding is available in popular colors to fit everyone’s style.

Vinyl and Fiberglass Replacement Windows

Replacing your existing drafty windows with energy efficient custom made windows helps keep heating and cooling costs down. Winter’s offers premium fiberglass windows along with vinyl replacement windows. In a study of energy efficient windows, state of the art fiberglass window frames were found to have the highest R-value (resistant to heat loss) of all frame materials tested, excellent insulating properties, durable—will not warp, shrink, swell, rot or corrode, paintable or stainable, moisture resistant and due to their strength can hold large expanses of glass.
